U.S. Distances from Israeli Strikes

The United States has firmly distanced itself from Israel’s recent large-scale airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure, stating it played no role in the operation and cautioning Tehran not to target U.S. interests in the region.

“Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in the strikes, and our top priority is the safety of American forces in the region,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an official statement. “Israel advised us they believed this was necessary for their self-defense.”

Rubio added that President Donald Trump’s administration has “taken all necessary steps to protect American forces” and remains in constant communication with regional partners. He warned Iran directly:

“Let me be clear Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel.”

The remarks followed a series of preemptive airstrikes by Israeli forces targeting Iran’s long-range missile infrastructure and nuclear development sites. According to Israeli military sources, the objective was to severely degrade Iran’s capacity to produce or deploy weapons capable of threatening Israel.

Dozens of coordinated strikes reportedly hit military installations across Iran, including a residential neighborhood in Tehran known to house senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Multiple explosions were reported throughout the capital, with Iranian state media confirming widespread fires and property damage.

In the aftermath, Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency, shut down its airspace, and diverted all incoming flights to alternate destinations. Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport also suspended operations, with Iranian media reporting active air defense systems engaging potential threats.

As tensions escalate, U.S. intelligence sources suggest that Iran is preparing for a retaliatory strike, possibly involving ballistic missile attacks on Israeli territory. Both nations remain on high alert as fears of a broader military conflict continue to mount.
