In the glitzy yet gritty world of professional boxing, where knockouts in the ring often pale in comparison to the punches thrown outside it, Devin Haney is making headlines for a very personal fight. The undefeated lightweight champion, fresh off high-profile bouts, has filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancée, Leena Sayed, demanding the return of luxury gifts worth a staggering $350,000 that he gave her during their two-year relationship. This isn't just about material possessions; it's a story of love, loss, and legal maneuvering that has fans and critics buzzing about accountability in celebrity circles breakups.

Haney, 26, and Sayed, who share a daughter named Khrome born in January 2025, met about two years ago and seemed headed for marital happiness until the engagement fell apart. The gifts in question, luxury items like Hermès handbags, an Audemars Piguet watch, a diamond ring, and diamond earrings, were given "in anticipation of their wedding," according to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles court. Haney argues that under California law, specifically the state's statutes on conditional gifts for marriage, these items must be returned now that the relationship has ended, as they were connected to the promise of marriage. He claims total damages exceed $500,000, including emotional and financial tolls.

This marks the second lawsuit Haney has filed against Sayed in less than a month. Just weeks earlier, in August 2025, he accused her of extortion and defamation, a claim that arose after she obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him. Sayed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, responded by calling the latest suit "an extension of his campaign to punish her" for seeking the restraining order and standing her ground in court. He urged Haney to "get real," framing the actions as retaliatory rather than justified.

The saga has sparked heated debates online, with some seeing Haney's pursuit as a principled stand for fairness in gifting norms. In contrast, others see it as petty, considering their co-parenting responsibilities for their young daughter. For Haney, who has built a career on resilience from becoming the youngest undisputed champion in two weight classes to bouncing back from a controversial loss to Ryan Garcia, this personal battle tests his resolve in a different arena.

As the case unfolds, it reveals the complexities of high-profile relationships, where legal briefs and luxury items replace love letters and become tools of leverage. Whatever the outcome, it serves as a reminder that even champions can't avoid the real fights that hit closest to home. Fans are eager not just for Haney's next ring appearance, but for a resolution in this outside-the-ring drama.
