Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray has officially sealed a blockbuster deal with Italian side Napoli to sign Nigerian international and Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer. The move follows a sensational loan spell in the 2024/25 season, where Osimhen lit up the Turkish Super League with an astonishing 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches across all competitions.
According to sources close to the negotiations, Galatasaray agreed to trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, paying €40 million upfront while the remaining €35 million will be cleared in installments by the end of 2026. Napoli also secured €5 million in performance-based bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future transfer.
In a strategic twist, the deal includes a rare "anti-Serie A clause", which bars Osimhen from joining any direct rival club in Italy’s Serie A for the next two years a clear sign that Napoli aims to protect their domestic interests even after the player's departure.
Osimhen will now reunite with manager Okan Buruk at Galatasaray, where he had a record-breaking loan season that helped the club secure the Super Lig title. During the 2024/25 campaign, he scored 26 league goals and provided 5 assists, quickly becoming a fan favorite and a nightmare for opposition defenders.
This transfer not only marks a major milestone in Galatasaray’s European ambitions but also highlights Osimhen’s rise as one of the most sought-after African talents in global football. The 25-year-old forward is expected to lead Galatasaray’s attack as they gear up for the UEFA Champions League and aim to extend their dominance in Turkish football.
With this move, Victor Osimhen solidifies his place as a top-tier striker, and Galatasaray makes a bold statement of intent to challenge the continent’s elite.
